JKPP advocates strong PRIs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 3:The process to establish Panchayati Raj is continuing and the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Parishad (JKPP) has a definite role in getting established strong Panchayati Raj Institutes (PRIs) in Jammu and Kashmir. The views were expressed by Executive body members and other office bearers of Block, District and Provincial level in one day training programme of JKPP organized at Bari Brahmna District Samba. Former Minister Nisar Ahmed Khan and Patron JKPP was the chief guest while Jugal Kishore Gupta - State President of JKPP delivered the key lecture. The speakers highlighted the role and necessity of strong PRIs to ensure equal development and growth of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions of the State. There is urgent need to provide necessary information/ training to .Panches and Sarpanches to enable them to play their role effectively. The services of voluntary and social organizations having competence in the field can be utilized by the Government. Nisar Ahmed Khan exhorted upon all the office bearers and members of JKPP to share their knowledge/ information about PRIs with the Panches and Sarpanches and to co-operate in getting solved the problems of common interest from the concerned authorities. He also desired that JKPP should start regular training programme on priority keeping in view the urgency in the matter.
