Several schemes underway to raise literacy rate in JK:Bhalla

JAMMU, DECEMBER 03-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla has said Government is endeavouring a lot to eradicate illiteracy from across the State adding that School Education Ministry has played a pivotal role in taking education to every part of the State by introducing several educational policies.
This was stated by Minister while addressing a large gathering at a function held at Government Primary School, Nanak Nagar, here today.
Mr. Bhalla asked the parents to send their wards in schools, colleges and universities so that they become a good citizen of the country. He asked the teaching fraternity to put their sincere efforts in providing quality education to the students. He stressed upon the teaching fraternity to inculcate moral values in students besides ensuing quality academic education. He said this contribution had brought revolution in education sector for achieving 100% literacy.
The Minister said that Government is endeavoring a lot to eradicate illiteracy from every nook and corner of the state by opening and upgrading scores of schools besides equipping the government educational institutions with better infrastructure and qualified staff. He said Government institutions have good infrastructure as compared to private schools adding that teachers of government schools are experienced and well trained.
On the occasion, the students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly applauded by the audience.
Later, the Minister also distributed stationery to 81 poor students which included notebooks, pens, pencils and geometric boxes.
