Basic amenities to underprivileged areas, govt’s priority: Bhalla | Pays obeisance at Data Ranpat devsathan, Birpur | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DECEMBER 04: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla on Sunday said that Government has launched a number of revolutionary steps to develop all underprivileged areas with improved basic amenities to the people. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the locals at Central mohalla in Bahu village near Kaccha talab. Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 19 lakh for construction of lanes and drains at Central mohalla and Nalian mohalla in Bahu village adding that these works would be completed within stipulated time frame. He asked the people to cooperate with executing agencies for timely completion of development works in their respective basties. He said Government has earmarked Rs. 84 lakh for upgradation of lanes and drains in slum basties of Rajiv Nagar, Gorkha Nagar, Poonchi Mohalla, Bazigar Basti, Manhasgarh, Qasim Nagar and Shah Abad of the area. The Minister said work on the construction of boundary wall at Children’s grave yard at Qasim Nagar ward No 7 involving a cost of Rs 17 Lakh is in progress. Heinformed that Rs. 75 lakh have been sanctioned for construction of playfield near Government Higher Secondary School Bahu Fort. The Minister also paid obeisance at Data Ranpat Devji Devsathan at Birpur and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state. Later, the Minister attended the 10th Annual Day function of Euro Care at Gulshan ground Police auditorium. Principal of the school, Mrs. Reetu Berry, read out the annual report of the school. A cultural programme was presented on the occasion. The Minister distributed prizes among the meritorious students. Mr. Bhalla appreciated the school management for imparting quality education and other necessary services to the students including moral values.
