| IRP cop’s mysterious death sparks massive protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Dec 4: Massive protest broke out in Rajouri after the mysterious death incident of IRP cop and driver named Shahid Bhat outside the house of a Dy SP.
It is noted that cop Shahid Bhat of IRP 11 Bn son of Haji Abdul Qayoom of W No 8 Rajouri city, died in mysterious conditions outside the house of Dy SP (IRP 11 Bn) Daljit Singh. The deceased cop was driver of the said Dy SP and his marriage was to be solemnised on 12 of this month.
As per sources, the higher officials of this cop denied him for leave resulting in his frustration and in between this the incident of his death happened. Police sources describe this incident as suicide by the cop whereas his family members, relatives and near ones are describing it as a murder mystery. Raising their demand of high level probe in this incident, these people today staged a massive protest in
Rajouri and blocked the area of Gujjar Mandi and Abdullah bridge. The protestors raised slogans against said DySP and demanded his arrest. They also showed resentment that cop died in the morning time on Saturday while post mortem was being conducted on Sunday. This protest continued for hours after which District Development Commissioner (DDC) GA Khwaja talked with the protesting people and pacified them.
