‘Vinaash’ staged at Natrang’s Sunday Theatre | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 4: Natrang presented yet another new play ‘Vinaash’ which is an adapted segment of Badal Sircar’s famous play ‘Teesvi Shatabdi’. The play has been adapted and directed by Dhanesh Dogra and staged at Natrang Studio Theatre at Tange Wali Gali, Kachi Chawni in Sunday Theatre Series. The play tells the story of the after effects of the twin bombing on Heroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during the Second World War. Through the perspective of one of the survivors of that tragedy, the play presents before us the pain and agony of the war through very powerfully woven words. It creates the images of grotesque and heart rendering scenario which was the outcome of the bombing which claimed mass causalities and destruction beyond counting and the survivors were left with very difficult circumstances to live with crippled and burned bodies and without limbs more or less like zombies. All the human emotions were transformed to the emotions of deep pain and terror and no doubt the feeling of sympathy towards those who have also suffered the same. So grim was the plight of the people who had to face this wrath, people even now, after so many years feel terrified on listening to it. Though it is the event of past but indirectly warns for future also. After so many years, the bombs have turned more disastrous and countries more hostile and this might of science is a constant threat to humanity. The play was presented in solo narrative style and Dhanesh Dogra an experienced theatre actor who exhibited his versatility; he lived every emotion to the depth of the heart. The lights were designed and executed by Gaurav Jamwal. Vipin Gupta rendered the music. The show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma who also did the presentations.
