Harbans Singh in which about forty Chairmen of Colleges of Education took part. The agenda of the meeting was to strengthen the quality education in the colleges of education. It was noted with resentment that about 80% of the Colleges have not been allotted seats for BEd in the current session. It was passed unanimously in the meeting to request the University authorities and Minister of Higher Education to start counseling so that the vacant seats in the colleges be filled up. It was also discussed in the meeting that colleges have invested crores of rupees in infrastructure and are playing a major part in employment without any government assistance. A great concern was also shown that while Kashmir University has started counseling for the vacant seats, but Jammu University is not taking any initiative in this regard. It was also unanimously decided to move to the court, if the vacant seats are not filled up in colleges after due counseling for the session 2011-12. All the associates of Forum reposed their faith in S Harbans Singh and requested him to present their case before the Chief Minister and Governor.
