| Protest against mysterious death of Police driver continued for second day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 4: Protest demonstration continued for 2nd consecutive day against mysterious death of Cop drive at Rajouri. Protestors blocked the road at early in the morning ist at Gujar Mandi & later at Abdullah bridge. They raised slogans against administration and State Government& demanded thorough probe. They held Police officer responsible for the death. They alleged that cop Shahid Mohammad S/o Abdul Qayoom Bhat of ward 10 Rajouri was harassed by his officers. No leave was sanctioned in his favour for his marriage ceremony which was fixed for Dec 11.
Today when dead body of the cop reached Rajouri it was taken to the graveyard in large procession attended by all walks of people. Deputy Commisioner of the district G.A. Khan and SSP Vijay Sambyal also joined the procession. Molvi of the local mosque Mohd. younis and khateeb of jamia masjid Ghulam Rasool addressed huge gathering of mourners and demanded thorough probe for the mysterious murder.
They alleged Cop died mysteriously & suspect some foul play. He faced harassment by officers which is evident by not sanctioning of leave on the occasion of his marriage. Family members of the deceased also demand probe in the murder and rejected suicide theory .Latter the road blockade was lifted after Deputy Commissioner assured thorough probe in the matter and punishment to the guilty. The deceased cop was working with Dy. S. P. Daljeet Singh of 11 Bn IRP at whose residence the incident occurred. |
