NSF warns against opening admissions in B Ed colleges Punish erring B Ed colleges, stop fresh counselling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 5: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has asked the Jammu University (JU) not to go for B Ed admissions as the Forum of B Ed Colleges was pressing it hard for the same. Instead, JU should take action against the erring colleges and then only think of opening counselling once again. Addressing a press conference, NSF president Vikas Sharma said, "B Ed colleges committed number of irregularities during the last academic session. University had ordered inquiry to unearth those irregularities. But so far nothing has come out. B Ed colleges have made the mockery of the system. They indulge in large scale irregularities and at the same time asking for admissions to fill their seats." He advised JU administration to apply carrot and stick policy with the BEd colleges. Sharma said, "The academic session of B Ed commenced on October 15 and already 50 days have passed and how it would be possible to admit the students at this stage. JU must not open the counselling once again." He added when relief is not been given to other students vis-a-vis late admissions then the same criteria should be applied for B Ed admission as well. No concession of any kind is given to the B Ed colleges who have thrown all the norms of University to winds. He warned of agitation if the students would be admitted in the B Ed colleges. Among those who were present in the press conference included, Shafqat Malik Chairman University Unit, Nitin Chandel, Imtiyaz Lone, Sahil Sharma and others.
