Govt officials to be more responsive towards public demands: Wani

Doda, Dec 6: MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani, today, inaugurated Water Supply Scheme from Nagni to Hanch Malna in in Ghat block of Doda constituency. Addressing a mammoth gathering, MLA Doda said that by completion of this 18 km water supply scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.30 crores, people’s long pending demand is met.
This scheme shall benefit more than 30,000 people. The main distribution line has been laid with start of regular supply of water to public.
Otherwise, this area was facing with acute shortage of drinking as well irrigation water supply. MLA Doda also laid foundation stone of PMGSY road from Udhyanpur to Hanch.
The 6.65 km, reportedly being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crores, shall be completed by end of March 2012.
MLA Doda informed that the Government is committed to provide a transparent, clean and responsive administration to the people of state and has been successful in implementing various Poverty Alleviation Programmes, Socio-Economic developmental schemes and providing basic civil amenities for the rural upliftment.
Majid Wani futher asked the government officers to be more responsive and accountable towards public demands and needs; all non-performing officers shall have to face stern action. This is the foremost duty of all government officials to identify problems of people and provide timely solutions to them.
There is an urgent need, today, that all government officials become more responsive towards the citizen’s demand and accelerate the decision making process in order to increase the administrative efficiency.
He also directed them to monitor the schemes and make judicious use of funds so that the purpose of these schemes is accomplished within stipulated time-frame.
Later, he met with a number of deputations of people from the area and readdressed their grievances. He was informed that there is a total failure of electricity supply at village Kochha in block Ghat of Doda constituency.
He assured that the government shall take stern action against those found responsible for this major lacuna. Xen PHE, BDO Ghat alongwith sectoral officers of PHE, PMGSY and Rural Development Department were present on this occasion. A number of Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent of Ghat blocks also spoke on this occassion
