2 drug peddlers held with 1,700 intoxicant capsules | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 06: Two drug peddlers were today apprehended by police on the national highway near Chenab Textile Mills (CTM) at Kathua, about 90 km from here, along with 1,700 intoxicant capsules. They were identified as Sahib Singh, son of Surjeet Singh of Nitco Lane, and Sunny Kumar, son of Ram Lal of Bakshi Nagar. Police sources said the duo got down under suspicious circumstances from a vehicle near CTM while cops were making searches of vehicles there. Both of them were stopped and put to frisking during which the cops recovered 1,700 intoxicant capsules from their possession. They were then arrested and whisked away to Kathua police station where a case under NDPS Act was registered against them, the sources added. They were alleged to have smuggled the consignment from Pathankote for its supply to drug addicts in and around Kathua. Sahib -- an autoricksha driver by profession -- originally hails from New Sant Nagar in Gurdaspur, Punjab.
