| Muharram procession in Leh | | It is our religious duty to eliminate social evils: Sheikh Javid | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
LEH, Dec 6:A large number of mourners gathered here at Masjid Choterantak to take part in the Muharram procession which proceeded towards Imam Bada via Jama Masjid Leh.
At Jama Masjid while appealing to huge gathering Sheikh Muhammad Javid said that Imam Hussain gave his blood and lay down his life for the betterment of mankind. He (A.S) with his whole family was few in number and they were fighting with enemy who were thirty thousands in number but Imam Hussain face his enemy with bravery just for the cause of truth and righteousness.
Sheikh Mohammed Javid said today the people involved in many evils like corruption and we have to fight this menace as teachings of Imam Hussain give message to fight with corruption. He appealed to all sections of the society to truly follow their religion not only in their religious places like Mosque or temple but every one should follow his religion in his day to day life and by this our society can became corruption free society.
Today in support of Muharram procession almost whole Leh was closed. Apart from Muslims other religious people also observed band.
