Release 7 per cent DA before Christmas:NMC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 6: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to release pending 7 per cent DA in favour of employees and pensioners before the Christmas. Addressing a meeting, NMC president Subash Shastri said that it is the only way the employees would be able to face the constantly rising prices of essential commodities. Shastri has said that in view of the increasing inflation this installment has already been released by the central and several state governments to their employees and pensioners. He further appealed CM to take decision on it in the ensuing Cabinet Meeting. He said that when the budged provision has already been made in the current year’s budget in releasing DA installment, there is no justification on for withholding it. Pleading the cause of daily wagers in the various government departments, NMC chief also demanded regularization of daily wagers working in the Rural Development Department (RDD) and other departments, who have completed seven years in their respective department. He emphasised for issuing immediate orders for regularization of eligible daily wagers in the state. Describing Chief Minister as seasoned politician and an outstanding administer, Shastri has expressed full confidence in the present government. He also demanded pension benefits to the employees of PSUs and regularization the services motivators working in watershed project at Akhnoor.
