Home Guards celebrate Raising Day by protesting on road

JAMMU, Dec 6:All J&K Home Guards Welfare Association held a protest demonstration on the day of its "Raising Day" today in front of Press Club, Jammu.
Home Guards shouted slogans against the State Government for its ‘indifferent attitude’ towards their grievances
On the occasion, Inder Mohinder Tar Singh State President Janta Dal (United) while addressing the media persons said that we have been apprised by the J&K Home Guards Welfare Association that on "Raising Day" too the Home Guards have been neglected and avoided by the State Govt as they have not been allowed to parade whereas the proxy parade was organized through Auxiliary Battalion and around 20 Home Guards Trainees, who allegedly protested as their colleagues have been avoided and not allowed to parade on the Raising Day.

Tar Singh further said that it is high time that the genuine demands of Home Guards are addressed now as they are sitting on Dharna for the last over five years and their families are suffering each and every moment.
He said that they have a ray of hope that someday they will be paid salary at par with Punjab or Haryana Home Guards. Tar Singh strongly urged upon State Government to come forward and announce the salary structures of Home Guards at par with the neighbouring states.
The prominent who were present include Sat Paul Saini General Secretary EPTWS, General Secretary Suresh Kumar Sharma, Secretary Rakesh, Krishan Lal, Tarsem Lal, Romesh Kumar, Sham Lal, Ved Kumar Anil, Pawan and Vijay.
