Exemplary measures to meet aspirations of ruralites: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 6:Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said the Government has taken various exemplary measures to meet the aspirations of the people of rural areas across the State, adding that for this purpose central Government has provided liberal funding under different development sectors. The Minister was addressing a large gathering at Raipur-Satwari after distributing financial assistance among those whose houses were damaged due to flash floods during rainy season, here today. Bhalla called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies in developing every corner of the State on modern lines especially rural areas at par with urban pockets by providing road connectivity, safe drinking water, electricity, education, health, besides better lanes and drains. He said Government is making all out efforts to include Raipur-Satwari area into Municipal Corporation, adding that after inclusion of locality, the area would be developed on modern lines at par with urban centres. Bhalla said that Government has approved Rs 4.92 crore for widening of Karan Bagh-SKUAST-J link road, the work on which is under progress. He informed that for facilitating the people of Barzalla, Raipur-Satwari and Govindpur Kullian, the Government has already dedicated Rs 3.16 crore multipurpose community halls. He said the halls are being utilized by the locals for arranging their social as well as religious functions there on nominal charges. The Minister said the R&B department has submitted a detailed project report for construction of 21 new link roads costing Rs. 4.92 crore of the old Satwari and its adjoining areas to the NABARD authorities for funding adding that with the release of funds, the works could be started in Satwatri zone. Bhalla said that three Middle Schools have been upgraded at the level of High Schools in these areas, adding that Belicharana is also being promoted as tourist spot where construction of artificial lake at a cost of Rs 110 crore is apace.
