| EXPERIMENTS YET NOT OVER IN JU, MORE CHANGES LIKELY | | | Jammu, Jan|10
It seems that experimental phase is yet not over in Jammu University (JU) as some more changes are likely to follow within the course of next few days. Meanwhile, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam today assumed the additional charge of Director, College Development Council much to the annoyance of some senior Professors in the University, as she has been preferred over her senior counter parts for this additional responsibility. Sources close to Vice-chancellor opined that Prof. Kulwant Kour, HOD, Political Science is likely to be burdened with the additional charge of Chief Librarian, Central Library. In another likelihood, Dr. J.P.S. Jooral from Deptt. of Statistics and Dr. Gurdev Singh from Central Library are expected to assume the charge of Officers on Special Duty (OSD) to assist Chairman JU security, Prof V.K. Kapoor. Meanwhile, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam assumed today her additional charge of Director, Colleges Development Council Dr. Kilam is also the Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. But same of her senior counterparts have flayed this decision of VC, as a full time administrator is required to look after the affairs of Colleges Development Council. On the condition of anonymity some highly placed sources disclosed that VC has taken this decision in haste under the pressure of influential lobby of affiliated colleges. Earlier, it was considered that Prof. R.D. Sharma would replace Prof. Rajiv Gupta and it was also expected that he would initiate some strong steps against the erring affiliated colleges. But, this surprising change has put an end over all such speculations. Meanwhile, Dean students Welfare, Prof P.S. Pathania today formed a three member committee for the upcoming JURSEA elections. The committee comprised of Prof.V. K. Kapoor, Prof B.L. Sharma and Dr. J.P.S. Jooral will make arrangements for the smooth and fair conduct of JURSEA elections.
