Jolts for BJP to continue as more may join expelled MLAs | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 6: In a major setback to BJP hundreds of party loyalists have shifted loyalty to seven expelled MLAs while more are thinking to quit the party in near future. According to sources changing loyalty by the senior and die hard activists of the BJP and joining the group of expelled MLAs is a major setback to the Party. The Party leadership is perturbed over after the banner of revolt was taking by its senior activists who decided to resign from the party and join the expelled MLAs. ing the group of party leaders led by Prof Gupta. Besides Mr Grover hundreds of activists included Arun Khanna, Darshna Devi, Ram Kumar , Ravinder Singh ex councilor Batote Municipal Council, Ashok Gandhi, Ravinder Singh, Krishan Lal, Rakesh Kumar, Dr Mohan Lal, Om Parkash Kakroo, Ram Kumar ex district general secretary Doda. Those who shifted loyalty included a large number of working Committee members and office bearers. With them hundreds of grass root level workers of the Party have decided to join the new group, sources said. The decision by these activists has been taken in view of the highhandedness of the state leadership which instead of running the party as a single unit encouraged dissidence and engaged in favouritism. Sources said that these activists have also sent letters to Party High Command apprising it of the arbitrary way of functioning of the state leadership. Taking a united front against the Party leadership these activists decided to shift their loyalty to the expelled group. ``We have taken the decision to teach the leadership a lesson so that a good sense prevails in it'' said a senior activist. He said more partymen are likely to desert the party in large numbers and join the new group alleging the groupism still prevails in the party and senior leaders don't see eye to eye with each other. ``We appeal the BJP High Command to take a cognizance of the same and take immediate steps to save the otherwise it will be wiped out from political scene of the state completely'' he added. |
