The RIK is seeking sedation case to be registered against Ms Roy her sedative remarks against India and state of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to petitioners Ms Roy in his speech during a function at New York on 12 November, 2011 had remarked against India and state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The petitioners Convener RIK Veer Saraf and others namely Vijay Kumar Kashkari and Ajay Kumar Butt today approached the City Police Station Jammu for registration of an FIR against Ms Arundhati Roy as per the direction issued by the Honorable High Court on 24th of November in PIL filed by the petitioners through Advocate Rohit Kapoor.
Expressing their dismay, the RIK members stated that they are disappointed the way police treated their FIR. "We even approached the higher police authorities but nobody is taking the cognizance of High Court Order as far as registration of an FIR against Arundhati Roy, 'Saraf said. He said that they will once again approach the honorable court registration of Crimnal case against Ms Roy. "Our next move is that we will now once again approach the court for registration of an FIR and contempt proceedings against police because the order of the division bench of High Court is clear that we have to approach the police for registration of an FIR against Arundhati Roy." Saraf added. Referring to the court order, he said, "The order of Honorable High Court clearly mentioned word police in his order and Police is rejecting our contentions.
Meanwhile council for the petitioner Advocate Rohit Kapoor said that the result is as per their expectation. "The case against Ms Roy is clear case of sedition and police instead of taking sue motto notice against Ms Roy even refuse to lodge an FIR against her despite the court orders." Advocate Kapoor said. He said that after refusal from police, they will once again knock the doors of Honorable court and seek directions for police to registered FIR against Ms Roy for her sedative remarks against sovereignty of India as well as against the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
