Dar, Rana stick to their 24X7 job, criticize PDP and its leaders | | | Early Times Report Chalana (Nagrota), Dec 6: The State govt has got a 24X7 duty for the ministers of ruling NC and the political advisor to the Chief Minister. The assignment is simple and straight, just issue statements against the PDP and try to hide the governance deficit and other shortcomings of the govt under this propaganda. True to their new 24X7 assignment, the Minister of State for R&B, Javed Ahmed Dar Tuesday alleged that power politics has been PDP's trait since its inception and the party is least concerned with the welfare of the people of the state. Dar was speaking to a gathering after inspecting the work and soil testing of the 170 metre, pre-stressed concrete bridge at Sanger over Tawi River in Chalana village of Dansal block. He was accompanied by political advisor to the Chief Minister, Devender Singh Rana. Dar said, "Aim of the PDP is to divide people for their vested interests. It (PDP) has survived on deceit and falsehood so far and now the party is fully exposed before the society. All and one have observed its double standards and double speak to gain power for personal ends," he said. Dar conveniently decided not to speak about the failures of the govt which has not fulfilled any of its promises to the people, lest of all being providing employment to the educated unemployed youth of the State. The normal course of discourse for any responsible govt is to speak about its own achievements and then compare the same to those of the previous govt. The comparison would have in itself been a big statement on the achievements of the coalition govt, but since there is little to be said on that front, the minister and advisor decided to curse the PDP. Already three years into governance, Dar said the commitments with the people were being fulfilled fully by the government. He could not list a single commitment that had so far been fulfilled. Speaking on the occasion, Rana said NC has always stood for the principled politics for the welfare and good of the people of J&K and shall continue to strive to uphold the rich traditions set by the stalwarts who founded the party. It would have been better had Rana also elaborated on what he means by principled politics. Just by indulging in rhetoric, the NC believes the people can be sustained on the artificial diet of slogans. Rana said path breaking achievements had been made, but he did not bother to specify what those path breaking achievements have been. If the construction of a bridge can be called a path breaking achievement then Mr. Rana has made the right statement. "We have no words to thank the Chief Minister," Rana said. This part of the statement is definitely an honest and true statement because Rana and others like him in the govt cannot fully thank the Chief Minister for giving them jobs they have been playing with like children play with cricket balls. |
