Young Guns lifts Budding Cricketers T20 Trophy | | | Early times report JAMMU, Dec 6: Sailing on superb half-century by Suryansh (51) and fabulous display of bowling by Pavit Singh (2/12), Young Guns United trounced Stadium XI-A by 18 runs and clinched the 2nd Budding Cricketers T20 Tournament trophy at MA Stadium, here today. Batting first, Young Guns scored 130 for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Suransh played a brilliant innings of 51 runs in 59 balls including four boundaries, while Yudhamanyu and Rattandeep Sharma also contributed useful 27 and 21 runs respectively. For Stadium XI, Prince claimed one wicket, while the other two batsmen fell through run-outs. Extras contributed 31 runs. Stadium XI, in reply, managed only 112 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 18 runs. Sahib Mehta was the top scorer with 41 runs, who he made in 50 balls with the help of four crispy boundaries. Sahil Chib and Sonu Baksh also chipped in with 22 and 13 runs respectively. Extras contributed 26 runs to the total. Pavit Singh was pick of the bowlers for Young Guns, who bowled economic spell of four overs and took two wickets by conceding just 12 runs. Shivam also bowled well and scalped 2 wickets by giving away 26 runs in his four overs, while Yudhamanyu claimed one wicket for 21 runs in his four overs. Suryansh of Young Guns was adjudged man of the match for his splendid fifty. Meanwhile, the match was officiated by Shashi Pal and Vijay as umpires, while Rakesh Kumar was the scorer. |
