JAMMU, Dec 6: The formidable side of Volleyball Club Pallanwala shall be playing against Pinto Club in the men's final in the ongoing 24th Jammu District Volleyball Championship, organised by District Volleyball Association at MA Stadium, here tomorrow. Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Pallanwala Club defeated RK Club Gho Brahmana in straight sets of 25-17, 25-21, 25-15. Bakhtabar Singh and Sumit played well for the winners. In other semi-final, Pinto Club trounced PG Departments of JU 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-21) in a close contest in best of five game.
The Results: (Quarterfinals) Volleyball Club Pallanwala beat Domana Club Muthi 25-13, 25-06; RK Club Gho Brahmana beat SPMR College of Commerce 25-21, 25-16; Pinto Club Jammu beat Volleyball Club Pindi 17-25, 25-22, 15-10.Meanwhile, in women section, Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar shall lock horns against PG Departments in the final to be played tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, GCW Gandhi Nagar beat Army Public School Bari Brahmana 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19) while PG downed Trikuta Club 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-19). As per the organizers, the women's final shall take place at 2 pm, followed by the men's title clash at 3 pm at the same venue. |
