| UCC clinches Asif Memorial T20 Tourney | | | Early times report
Doda, Dec 6: Ugad Cricket Club (UCC) lifted the trophy of Asif Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament by defeating MCC, Malnia with a huge margin of 158 runs in the finals at Cricket ground, Kul-hand Doda.
Earlier, batting first, UCC scored a huge total of 242 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Sonu Shan played a superb innings of 98 runs, while Ashok contributed useful 62 runs to the total. For MCC, Sajad took 3 wicket and Shabir claimed two.
In reply, MCC Malnia collapsed at a meagre total of 78 runs to lose the match by 158 runs. Ashraf was the only batsman to cross dou-ble figures and scored 23 runs. From UCC, Ashok and Sonu Shan took 4 wickets each. Sonu Shan of Ugad Cricket Club was adjudged man of the match for his superb all-round performance, while Ashok bagged the man of the series award. Yog Raj and Shabir Ahmed officiated as umpires in this match. The tournament was organi-sed by Young Star Cricket Club, Doda.
Najeeb-ur-Rehman Fani was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who alongwith Zaffer Ullah Rather distributed pri-zes among the winners and runners up teams. |
