Nagot cultural festival to start from Dec 10 at Bakkal

REASI, Dec 7:Nagot Cultural Festival, Bakal is all set to create a history as this first ever cultural bonanza in the lap of hills of Reasi will feature record nine hundred artists. This was disclosed here today at the District headquarters of Reasi by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur at a press briefing.
Three day Nagot Cultural Festival will start on December 10 with the inauguration of the programme by Minister for Youth Services and Sports R S Chib.
The opening programme will feature a mega Kud performance featuring 250 traditional dancers. This will be followed by series of traditional performances like ‘Bhakhan, Karkan, Geetru, Goria, Chann, Soiyan, Shinjh, Masade, Shand, and Mahiya. Each day of the Nagot Cultural Festival special teams from Jammu will present programmes based on Music, Dances and Theatre. On the opening day one popular dances by a group of girls from Jammu will present Morni’ ’Chatni’ ‘Jagarna’ and other Kashmiri , Gojri and Pahari dances under the chirography of Rakesh Kona.
On the second day, famous Romalo Ram and party will present Geetru. The concluding function will feature Natrang’s famous Dogri play ‘Suno Eh kahani’ in addition to the songs by Raman Salathia and party.
In all these days traditional artists coming from all parts of Reasi artists will camp at the venue to perform throughout the festival days. All arrangements are being made to offer free food to over 15,000 audiences expected to witness this festival every day.
