Financial literacy awareness programme at GDC Udhampur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Dec 07: Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College Udhampur in collaboration with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and State Bank of India (SBI) organised a Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling Awareness Program. Prof. (Dr.) Nutan K. Resutra was the chief guest whereas. Raj Kumar Meena, Assistant General Manager of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) presided over the function. In his inaugural address, Dr. Resutra implored upon the students to benefit from the program as it will immensely contribute towards making them a responsible and aware citizens. He also asked them to disseminate the information gathered among their friends, family and neighbors. R.K Meena in his expert talk described and cautioned against various economic offences which include fake currency, fictitious offers, fly by night companies, careless use of ATM and mobile banking. Meena motivated the students to understand the importance of contribution of every citizen in making our nation a strong economy by knowing about their rights and duties as customers. He also gave a detailed discourse on the history and functioning of Reserve Bank of India as a financial regulatory authority. Manohar Lal, District Development Officer NABARD Udhampur spoke at length about financial inclusion, its scope, significance, activities and Business Facilitator model. Earlier the program started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Sudhir Singh, Convener IQAC gave the formal welcome address. Prof. Ruth K. Messih, Prof. Seema Sharma Prof. Romesh Chander Sharma, Dr. Pooja were prominent to attend the program along with many students of the college.
