| NCC Day celebrated | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Dec 7: NCC Day was celebrated by the armoured, naval and infantry wings of NCC collectively in the college auditorium of Govt. Degree College, Kathua.
The chief guest of the function, Brig.S Hari Mohan Iyer Commander, along with the guests of honour, Col. J A Mir, Commanding officer, 1st J&K armed. Sqn NCC and Lt. Col. B.k Tiwari were given impressive Guard of Honour by the NCC Cadets of 1ST Armd Sqn. NCC and 1st J&K Naval wing of the college.
Commanding officer of 1ST Armd. Sqn. NCC, Col. J A Mir was requested to shower his blessing over the NCC cadets.
In his address he narrated the history of NCC with facts and figures. He also appreciated the contribution of NCC cadets of Govt college Kathua in various NCC camps like TSC, RDC and OTA Camps.
The cultural programme commenced with the NCC song sung by NCC cadets which was followed by the colourful performance depicting the richness of culture and tradition of our state by a Dogri and Panjabi dance and the cultural programme was concluded with a Kashmiri group song by NCC cadets of the college.
Later the Annual Report of the achievements of three NCC wings was presented by Sandeep Choudhary.
The ceremony pertaining to the distribution of B and C certificates was performed thereafter in which the worthy commander gave away these prestigious certificates to the successful NCC cadets.
After this the chief guest was requested to deliver a few words in order to boost the moral of the NCC cadets.
In his addressed he inspired the NCC cadets to join the Indian Army and he revealed that at present there is a shortage of good Army officers in the country.
The NCC day celebrated came to an end with the performance of the National Anthem by the NCC cadets.
The compeering was done by Ambika Rajput, Associate NCC officer Infantry (Girls Battalion).
