Govt’s double standard on alleged murder of Rajouri cop: BJP Leader | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 7 : Accusing Chief Minister of looking at killings in Kashmir and Jammu with separate glasses, Bhartiya Janta Party has demanded time bound enquiry of the alleged murder of IRP Constable of Rajouri in Sainik Colony Jammu. In a press statement, taking a dig at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, BJP State Secretary Advocate Vibodh Gupta said if the killing would have been happened in Kashmir, the situation would been different and since the person belongs to Jammu’s Rajouri area, government is taking it non serious. Referring to the mysterious death of a Constable of Rajouri Shahid Batt not even a single representative of government has visited the house of Abdul Qayoom the father of deceased at Rajouri to express grief and even no commission has been constituted to probe the mysterious death which has been termed as murder by the relatives. Accusing the state government of double standard, BJP leader said that human beings are equals in all parts but government is looking the alleged murder of Jammu with different yard stick. “If there would have been the similar case in Kashmir, all Chief Minister to Home Secretary would have been visited the house of deceased but as it happens with the young man of Rajouri, government took it lightly”, he said adding that such attitude of government is clear indication of discrimination with the people of Jammu region. Demanding immediate time bound completion of enquiry, Gupta said that the mysterious death is doubtful and family has already termed it murder. He said that although Shahid had not committed suicide, if Police version is taken into consideration, there must be arrest under section 306 RPC. “This is non seriousness and it can deteriorate the situation in Rajouri”, he added.
