Jammu, Jan 11 Press Information Bureau, Government of India, has launched a series of Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign across the country including J&K State. In J&K State , Press Information Bureau, Jammu has so far held two such Campaigns at Kishtwar (Doda) and Leh (Ladakh). The 3rd Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign in J&K State is being held at R. S. Pura , Jammu. The Campaign at R. S. Pura will be held from 19thJanuary to 21st January,2007. J&K Minister for Health and Medical Education, Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma will inaugurate the Campaign at R. S. Pura on 19th January, 2007. During the three-day long Campaign, senior ministers of the State Government and other VVIPs are expected to visit R. S. Pura to take part in the Campaign. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness about the flagship programmes of central government namely Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), national Rural Employment Guarantee Act(NREGA), Mid-Day Meal Scheme, Integrated Child Development services (ICDS) Scheme besides Bharat Nirman Yojana covering rural roads, rural electrification, rural drinking water supply, rural telephony, rural housing and rural irrigation. The other units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting namely Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Song & Drama Division, Doordarshan and All India Radio are coordinating with Press Information Bureau in making the national level campaign a success. Besides, various State Government departments like Education, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Health, Forests, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Tourism and other Organizations Viz Banks, Insurance Companies, NABARD, NGOs, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Nehru Yuva Kendras are also being actively involved in the Campaigns(PIC) In addition to these organizations, involvement of locally elected representatives, prominent persons, social workers etc is being sought in creating awareness among the people about various centrally sponsored schemes. |
