Police never arrests any one without evidence: IGP Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Dec 8 Inspector General Police, Kashmir Range, S M Sahai, Thursday denied the allegations that police arrest people without any charges. Talking to KNS, Sahai said that police will continue its efforts to stop youth from indulging in stone pelting through counselling campaign. He claimed there were some elements who were behind the stone pelting incidents. “These stone throwing boys should have pen and book in their hands, but instead they are given stones. Those people who give stones to these children are not well wishers of Kashmir,” Sahai said. The IGP denied the allegations that they arrest people without any evidence. “We don’t arrest any person without evidences,” he asserted. He said that police was investigating as who are the people responsible for instigating youth in stone pelting incidents. “Initiation of counselling programme will continue as it has shown good response from the boys who have already been released as they don’t indulge in stone throwing incidents again. It is a success for the Jammu and Kashmir Police,” he claimed. The IGP, however, said that only police cannot curb the stone throwing ‘menace.’ “Parents and guardians should also play their role,” he told KNS.
