Municipal employees demand release of DA instalment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 8:Municipal Employees Union (Ministerial) of Jammu Municipal Corporation has urged to release 7% DA which is due w.e.f July 2011 in favour of State Government employees and pensioners. The demand was raised in a meeting of MEU held under the presidentship of Rohit George, president of the Union in the premises of Town Hall complex today. The employees said that the instalment of DA has already been released in favour of Central Government Employees/Pensioners, as the price of essential commodities have seen unprecedented hike and it has become very difficult for the salary class to feed their families. The Union request the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene personally in the matter and give instructions to Finance Department for release of 7% DA as there is already delay of about 6 months in releasing the DA instalment in favour of State Government Employees/Pensioners. Those who were present include Koushal Kumar, Jeevan Singh, Mohd Shariff, Basanti Razdan, Gopal Krishan, Amarjeet Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Sushil Singh, Ravinder Bhat, Sharda Kumari, Ruksana Bano, Sunaina, Jasbir Singh, Sat Pal , Ramesh Kumar, Aman Singh, Rajesh Gupta, Madan Baru, Ashwani Sharma, Kamaldeep Singh, Ramesh Lal Bhagat, Satish Kohli, Pranav Jamwal and Ajay Verma.
