NSF demands Crime Branch probe into B Ed bungling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 8:National Secular Forum (NSF) has urged the Governor N N Vohra to personally look into the issue of B Ed bungling and order Crime Branch enquiry to unravel the unholy nexus of Jammu University officials and owners of B Ed colleges. Addressing a press conference, the NSF president Vikas Sharma said recently the misdeeds of the B Ed colleges were exposed by some University officials. Though, an internal enquiry was ordered by the Vice Chancellor to probe the same. But, off late the same has been put in the cold bag. NSF seeks the intervention of Chancellor into the whole matter to bring out the truth. Sharma added, B Ed colleges are demanding re-opening of counselling to fill the vacant seats but, already two months of academic session has passed and under these circumstances, the re-opening of counselling holds no substance. Hence, we urged the Governor to succumb to the pressure of powerful B Ed lobby at any cost. While commenting on the four-member high level enquiry team, he said it is been six months since the Government had ordered probe into irregularities of Jammu University. But, the team headed by Chief Secretary Madhav Lal has not concluded the probe. It seems that Vice Chancellor Dr Varun Sahni has prevailed upon the enquiry committee that's why the conclusion has not been drawn. Sharma asked the Chief Secretary to expedite the process and submit the report otherwise protest would be started against the team. Among those who were present in the press conference included, Surjit Choudhary, Shafqat Malik, Ajay Taloor and Ravi Choudhary.
