| Saleem Geelani hopeful of Mirwaiz Umer Farooq's meeting with Syed Sallah-ud-Din | | | Srinagar, Jan 11 The Chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq is expected to meet Jihad Council Chairman Syed Sallah-ud-Din during his forthcoming visit to Pakistan in Islamabad. Announcing this during a press conference on his return from Pakistan visit, Chairman National Peoples Party Syed Saleem Geelani said here on Thursday that militant leadership is not opposing any community. Claiming that he had 90 minute long meeting with Jihad Council Chairman Syed Sallah-ud-Din during his recent Pakistan visit, Saleem Geelani said Kashmir issue was discussed at length during the meeting and he felt that militant leadership though having some reservations is according priority to dignity of the people. Saying that Syed Sallah-ud-Din wants new Delhi to shown sincerity in resolving long pending Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per wishes and aspiration of the people of the state, Saleem Geelani hope his meeting with Sallah-ud-Din can facilitate the meeting of Hurriyat delegation with Jihad Council Chairman. Hoping that Mirwaiz Molvi Umer Farooq will meet Syed Sallah-ud-Din during his proposed visit to Pakistan, Saleem Geelani though declined to have discussed the option of ceasefire with Hizb Supreme Commander, but said militant leadership is willing to show a positive response, if New Delhi shows sincerity on this count. He also claimed to have held meetings with the political leadership of Pak Administered Kashmir during his recent Pakistan visit.
