| For settling Kashmir dispute, Mufti calls upon Indo-Pak leadership to strengthen bonds of mutual trust | | | Srinagar, Jan 11 Calling upon Indo-Pak leadership to strengthen the bonds of mutual trust for amicable settlement of Jammu and Kashmir dispute and to avoid re-occurrence of any untoward incident, PDP Patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed during a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in Delhi sought widening and strengthening of peace process. Advising Prime Minister to speed up the internal and external activities of the dialogue process, Mufti warned that failure of peace overtures can land whole Indian Sub Continent in trouble and situation is bound to go out of control. Stressing for resolving Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the wishes and aspirations of people of the state, Mufti pleaded for softening of LoC travel and opening of more road links between the divided parts of Jammu & Kashmir state. Advising more confidence building measures, Mufti told the Prime Minister that more steps need to be taken for economic self-reliance of Jammu and Kashmir state and demanded full implementation of Rangarajan committee report. Supporting Chief Minister Gh Nabi Azad's demand for handing over of Dul Hasti power project to Jammu & Kashmir Government, he also pleaded for handing over of internal security matters to state police and security of Kashmiri traders and students based in other parts of the country.
