Lack of parking lots and traffic sense resulting into traffic chaos | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Dec 8: Lack of adequate parking lots and awareness about traffic (civic) sense among people are resulting into traffic chaos in Rajouri township these days. Horn honking and arguments between the drivers of various vehicles is a common site for a new comer to Rajouri which driving through Jawahar nagar, Gujjar Mandi, Kheora, Abdullah Bridge, BGSBU Univ Morh, Panja Chowk, Hilton Bridge etc. the congestion worst at the school / office time turns problematic to the students, employees and businessmen who often get late to their destinations. In the Rajouri city area, from Khandli to Nagesh bridge and Salani bridge to Kheora, there are only 4 to 5 private parking slots having just a capacity of parking for 6 to 9 vehicles. And thus the lack of adequate parking lots has aggravated the traffic congestion more because people are left with no option but to park their vehicles on roadsides which often results in drastic traffic jams. Secondly the lack of traffic rules among locals is also seen as a major root cause of traffic congestion in Rajouri Town. “Drivers without caring about other problems park their vehicles on public places and on busy areas and result traffic jams, said Rakresh Gupta a local from Jawahaer Nagar. Locals have several times demanded Govt authorities to pay emphasis upon this headache of Rajouri but they feel discomforted due to null response of authorities
