National level painters workshop concludes.

JAMMU, DECEMBER 8: Jammu and Kashmir Police has a significant role in boosting talent among the youth of the State. The Organization under its Civic Action Programme is conducting various national and state level events to cultivate the talent of youth.
Addressing the concluding function of 6-day National Level Painters Workshop at Gulshan Ground here this afternoon, the Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda said that the workshop in which national level artists participated, received a good response from art lovers. He said that the workshop, which was inaugurated on December 3 at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur was aimed to focus on motivating budding artists of the State towards the art and provide them a platform to excel their performance.
While interacting with the national level artists, the DGP said that art provides an opportunity to share views with each other and know about the culture of the different regions of the country. Stressing upon the art lovers, particularly the youth, to take advantage of this opportunity, he said that first workshop of such nature was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police in March this year and the second workshop was attended by 15 artists of national and international fame. He said that such events would be organized in other parts of the State to motivate the youth towards the art.
On this occasion, the artists from different parts of the country including Vilas Shainde, Aftab Dhar, Shafi Chaman, K. K. Gandhi, Rohit Verma, Shrildhar Iyar, Smt. Sangeeta Gupta, Smt. Alka Raghavalshi, Vilas Kulkarni, Him Chatterji, Satya Paul, Suneet Ghildial, Yusuf Gifa, Smt. Shama Sondhi and Mukant were honoured with shawals and cash rewards. The artists shared their experience witnessed during the workshop at Udhampur, Kud and Patnitop. They said that it would serve as a sweet memory for them. The youth of the State are interested in art and need a platform to excel, they said.
Khoda said that JKP has realized its obligation and the Organization has been undertaking various efforts under its Civic Action Progamme to address the major issues of youth. He said that the Organization has remained engaged in various activities in the field of sports, culture and education to enrich the talent of the youth.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Dilbag Singh, disclosed that during the workshop artists stayed at Kud and Patnitop also and a large number of people from all walks of life especially the student community showed their interest in the art workshop. He expressed his pleasure for the participation of artists of national repute in the workshop and said that the event would boost the talent of budding youth in the State.
K. K. Gandhi, who was organizer of the workshop appreciated the efforts of JKP for boosting such activities in the State and hoped that the efforts would yield good results in inspiring the youth towards the art.
