JAMMU, Dec 8: Demanding establishment of Lok Ayukta to end rampant corruption in Jammu and Kashmir, Shiv Sena and Dogra Front today held protest demonstration against the state government for inaction against graft.
Activists of Shiv Sena and Dogra Front led by its President Ashok Gupta held a protest demonstration.
The protesting Shiv Sainiks demanded immediate establishment of Lok Ayukta in the state to end corruption.
“The protest was against widespread corruption in the state. We appeal to the government to take action against all corrupt officials. Government should pass a bill and formulate laws for establishing Lok Ayukta in the state if they are serious about ending corruption,” Gupta told reporters here.
Launching a scathing attack on government for its inability to take concrete steps against corruption, Gupta said even State Accountability Commission is ill equipped as it lacks basic facilities for its smooth functioning.
“Mere chatting on the internet will not make the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah popular unless and until his words are not supported by action on ground,” Gupta said.
