Shia Federation demands release of funds for community | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 8:Shia Federation Jammu Province has demanded release of funds earmarked for Shia community of Jammu division which are not being provided to them while as their brethren in Kashmir and Leh region have received these finances. Addressing a press conference here today, Ashiq Hussain Khan President Shia Federation Jammu reiterated that although satisfactory arrangements were made for the holy month of Muharram but there is lot of scope for its improvement. By not allocating funds for Shia populace of Jammu Division meant for Muharram arrangements, sends out wrong signal among Shias of Jammu Division. Federation demands that step motherly treatment meted out to Shia population of Jammu division should be stopped. Khan said that when the central government provides huge funds for the equal growth of every community of the state why step motherly treatment is meted out with some communities. He demanded that such policy should be stopped forth with and every community should be given its due share. He also demanded that the police post near Karbala complex be relocated immediately so that enough space is provided to Shia Zaireens during the holy month of Muharram. In this behalf he demanded personal intervention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in shifting the police post.
