BAJ to continue its protest on 13th day

Jammu Dec 8:Bar Association of Jammu (BAJ) has decided to stage a protest Dharna which is equally supported by the legal community in all the Districts and Muffasils including Reasi, Katra, Poonch, Rajouri, Samba, Kathua, Hiranagar, Ramban, Batote, Bhaderwah, Bani, Majalata, Ramnagar, Chenani, Banihal and Thathri etc.
According to a press statement issued today, the members of BAJ observed that cause does not pertain solely to the lawyers and if the registration powers are vested with executive officers, it will lead to a chaotic situation wherein the ultimate sufferer will be a common man.
“The public in at alrge is already facing a difficulty in extracting their revenue documents (Fard Intkhab, Inteqal etc) and the move of Govt in seeking registration of documents from those revenue officers. Therefore, all this further adds to the plight and miseries of the common masses, they added. The members added that the govt's move therefore aims at leaving the public to the whims of the revenue officers.
Extending thanks to various organizations, the members maintained presently had received support from major political parties and social organizations including BJP, National Panthers Party, Muslim federation, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta-senior politician and MLA and Naresh Gupta MLC from Bhaderwah.
Bar Association Jammu appeals to the chambers of commerce and industries, retialers association, political parties, trade and transport unions, social organizations and public at large to extend their support by joining the protest dharnas organized by Bar association Jammu at 11:00 AM on 09-12-2011 (Friday) on the Janipur-High Court Road.
