| Central interlocutors fail to find ways for resolution of Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Dec 9 : Alleging that the Centre-appointed interlocutors on Kashmir issue has totally failed to recommend any resolution acceptable to all stakeholders, the All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) today said their recommendations were just an eyewash.
In a statement here, APSCC chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said the report submitted by interlocutors -- Dileep Padgaonkar, Radha Kumar and M M Ansari -- have failed in their task.
''There is no mention of any concrete step which could have helped to resolve the Kashmir issue, acceptable to all parties concerned,'' he said and alleged that there is even nothing which could have been seen as favourable to the people of the state.
He said the Centre government has always been playing with the sentiments of people of Jammu and Kashmir since the partition.
''Instead of going for a permanent and meaningful solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue, the Centre always try to buy time by appointing committees and interlocutors,'' he alleged.
Criticising the interlocutors for ignoring the members of the Sikh community in the state, Mr Raina said the basic problems faced by the community were not even mentioned in the report, submitted to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
He said a Sikh delegation during its meeting with the interlocutors here put their demands before them. But, he said, shockingly nothing has been said in the report.
However, he alleged, this all has been done on the direction of the Centre, headed by a Sikh Manmohan Singh.
He said both the Centre and the state government have always ignored the Sikh community and their sacrifices in the state.
Mr Raina also urged the state government to include the Sikhs under the Sher-e- Kashmir Employment Scheme.
He threatned agitation if the demands of the community, including minority status, employment package to sikhs of the state, OBC status to refugees of 1947 were not met.
