| India is all colours from space: Sunita | | | NEW DELHI, JAN 11 India-born American astronaut Sunita Williams, who flew over the country in the international space station, described the country as "colourful and really beautiful". "It is beautiful to see the countrysides. There are so many colours. I think I have mentioned that before being in India, how colourful it is. From the space, it is the same," Sunita, speaking via satellite from the International Space Station, told a gathering here. "We can see the green on the fields, the red in the mountains ... And the snow. It is really beautiful," she said adding the space crew had the luxury of flying over India a number of times. On sending more Indians to the space, she said be it from India or from anywhere else in the world "I think it is absolutely a great idea. It allows people to work together from all different backgrounds and professions. To a question on whether her research in space will in help in fighting terrorism, Williams said, "when you look at the earth from the space, there were no borders. "World just looks like one beautiful place where people probably are living very peacefully. It is a great view," she said. "It prompts to have another look and see where the problem areas in the world are and at times to see how humans impact the earth," Williams said. |
