Govt committed to provide basic amenities: Gupta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, DECEMBER 09- Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Mr. Subash Gupta said that thrust of the coalition Government is to provide all basic amenities to the people like road connectivity, education, health, drinking water, electricity and drainage system. Mr. Gupta said that Coalition Government was committed to connect every nook and corner of state by providing road connectivity. Mr. Gupta was speaking after inaugurating 1.50 KM long link road at Thanger Gailwand to Dubey (Devo Chack), taken up under District Plan, at a cost of Rs. 39 Lakhs including surface drains on the edge of road and other allied works. Mr. Gupta said that on its completion, a population of more than five thousand souls of Thanger Gailwand and adjoining areas would be benefited. He said that road connectivity is key for all around development of a society, adding that the government has initiated massive road development project across the state. The MLC said that Government is committed to develop remote areas at par with urban areas by providing all basic amenities. He said that Government is fully aware of the problem of the people and all out efforts are being made to solve these in a phased manner. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gupta called upon the unemployment youth of the state to avail the benefits of self-employment schemes launched by Central and State Governments. He said that the Government has provided loan facilities on minimum rates besides providing subsidy to encourage youth to set up their income generating ventures. The MLC asked the unemployed youth of the state to take full benefits of various development schemes like self help group, handicrafts, skill development besides large and small industries which have been mainly tailored to address unemployment problem.
