PDP lambasts coalition for increased level of corruption
12/9/2011 10:11:42 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Nov 9:A number of prominent residents and political activists from various parts of Rajouri constituency joined Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the presence of senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan here today.
Those who joined the party among others included Dheriyan Sarpanch Riyaz, Ishaq Tass, Sameer Ahmed, Haji Mohd Farooq, Abdul Gani, Wazir Hussain Dhok, Shabir Ahmed and their supporters.
In a press statement issued here today, Shahzad said that the people who joined the ranks of the party were impressed by its policies and programmes under the dynamic leadership of party patron and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the party President Mehbooba Mufti.
Khan said that the three years of governance by Mufti Government was the Golden era in the political annals of J&K.
“Mufti Sahib had set an example of good governance and the developmental activities had reached new heights. Unfortunately the subsequent governments had stopped all developmental activities but for their own vested interests,” he said.
Khan further said the NC government has throughout its history followed the policy of impeding the development of the state. It has put a halt to all the big projects and developmental works initiated under the Mufti government.
Lambasting the present coalition government for the increased level of corruption, Shahzad said that the centrally aided policies and developmental programmes including the Bharat Nirman have fallen prey to the corrupt practices of the present government.
Despite the lapse of two years since the starting of the SKEWPY on the birth anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah, the policy has failed to take off and reach the unemployed youth. He further said that the New Recruitment Policy has been the last nail on the coffin of the aspirations of the youth.
