BAJ stages Dharana in support of its demands

Jammu, Dec 9: Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) organized a protest Dharna further intensifying its ongoing agitation against the move of the Govt in taking away the powers of registration from Judicial Officers and vesting them with the Executive Officers.
The protest Dharna was organized on the High Court Road which was participated various political and non political parties.
Speaking on the occasion Adv B.S.Slathia President, BAJ, cautioned the Govt of avoidable situation if it goes ahead with its move of divesting the Judicial Officers of their registration powers. He further said that issue of registration is of serious concern to every single member of the society as it is the common masses who would have to wear the direct brunt of the Executive’s apathy in case the registration powers are given to the Executive Officer.
BAJ President warned the Govt. to take immediate remedial measures before the situation gets out of control when the BAJ would be left with no option other than taking the peaceful agitation to the roads. He also complemented the representatives of all the Social and Political Organizations who supported the cause BAJ.
Adv Vikram Sharma, Gen Secy BAJ, while addressing the participants detailed about the initiative of the BAJ who is on strike against the purported move of the Govt and the attempt Govt in adding to the miseries of general public by throwing them to the whims and caprice of the Executive.
Adv Usman Salaria, Vice-President BAJ, exhorted the members and the representatives of the various organizations to take the ongoing agitation to the logical conclusion with the support that is pouring from all the possible corners of the society, which represents the aspirations of the public at large.
The political and social leaders who addressed the gathering included Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma, Former Deputy Chief Minister and Senior Congress Leader, Ashok Khajuria (EX State President BJP) MLA Jammu East, Shahnawaz Choudhary ( Indian Youth Congress), H.C.Jhalmeria, Advocate ( National Panthers Party), Y.V.Sharma President ( Chambers of Commerce and Industries), Annan Sharma ( Kranti Dal), Dr Ajay Churungoo, and Dr Agnishekhar ( Panun Kashmir) , S Gurdev Singh ( Shiromani Akali Dal), Rajiv Chuni ( SOS International) , Kavinder Gupta, Narain Singh Jamwal, Verinder Gupta, Yash Pal Gupta, Adv Anwar Choudhary ( Gujjar United Front), Pt Rajesh Kesari ( Shiv Sena Hindustan), Piran Ditta, Nadeem ( Youth PDP). All the organizations and associations with one voice assured their unstinted support to the cause of the common masses as taken up by the BAJ.
Meanwhile, Bar Associations across the Districts and Mufassils including, Reasi, Katra, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, R.S.Pura, Akhnoor and others also staged massive protests today on the call of Bar Association Jammu by taking out protest March and organising sit-in Dharnas in their respective Districts/Sub-Districts and strongly opposed the move of the Govt. in taking away the powers of registration from Judicial Officers to vest them with the Executive Officers.
Representatives from Taxi Operators Union-Railway Station Jammu, Link Road Shopkeepers Association, Jain Bazaar Shopkeepers Association, Pacca Danga Traders Association, Lakhdatta Bazaar Shopkeepers Association, Raghunath Bazaar Shopkeepers Association, Purani Mandi Shopkeepers Association, Upper Gummat Shopkeepers Association, Bus Stand Shopkeepers Association, Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha, Dogra Saddar Sabha, Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Kashyap Jagriti Manch, Shri Ram Sena, Gujjar United Front, Nirbhao Nirvair Organization, All India Sikh Student Federation, NSUI, Bhai Kanaya Nirokar Sewa Society, besides others also participated in this protest demonstration.
