People highlight demands in public darbar

UDHAMPUR , December 9 : The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan has called upon the panches and sarpanches to initiate a vigorous awareness campaign about the Public Services Guarantee Act among the common masses in their respective areas so that the people could get their work done pertaining to different department in a time bound frame.
The DDC was addressing a public darbar at village Paranoo in Udhampur district . The problems and demands put forth by the inhabitants of villagers include installation of hand pumps in the village, repair of school buildings of High School Kalta and Middle School Paranoo, Construction of Panchayat Gahr, opening of ration extension counter, replacement of conductors (wire), construction of Bridge over Kalta Nallaha, opening of health and veterinary dispensary.
After giving patient hearing to the problems and demands of the representatives of the areas. The DDC apprised that the construction work of Panchayat Gahr would be started soon. He further directed Assistant Director CA&PD to prepare a proposal for opening ration sublet on internal arrangement basis. Regarding the replacement of electric Conductors in the area, he said that the project was already send to GOI for its approval and hoped it would be sanctioned soon. He directed the officers of PWD to prepare a detailed estimate for the construction of Kalta Nallaha Bridge so that it would be projected in the upcoming District Development Board’s meeting.
On the occasion, Khan sanctioned two hand pumps for the area to overcome the shortage of water supply. The DDC directed the BMO to manage the health camp at Padanoo 2-days in a week where as he instructed the veterinary Officers to hold camps on weekly basis in the area. Likewise, he directed the officers to mitigate the genuine problems of the public pertaining to their respective departments.
