JAMMU, Dec 9: Duggar Vikas Manch (DVM) extends its full support to the lawyers agitation of the members of Bar Association Jammu, which is agitating against the decision of the J&K Government to vest the powers of registration with the Revenue Department which were earlier were with the Judiciary.
In a meeting of the Duggar Vikas Manch, Convener of the forum, Dineshwar Singh Jamwal said that existing system should have been carried on and if certain improvisations were required in it, they could have been modified.
Jamwal said that it is unfortunate that the Judiciary & Lawyers, being an important part of the society, who are rendering useful service, and the proposed change in the procedure by the govt. will cause an utter chaos and confusion and a lot of inconvenience to the general public, since ultimate sufferer will be the common man .
Meanwhile, the delegates present in the meeting also showed their concern over the statement of the Union Minister for Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who had commented few days back that there should be a ‘Controlled Democracy’ in India.
The members present in the meting regretted on the comments made by Dr. Abdullah, in which he had suggested a controlled form of democracy for the people of India. The delegates asked whether Dr. Abdullah does not like the democratic setup of the Union of India, which is the largest democracy and one of the most vibrant democracies in the world, as Farooq Abdullah had suggested that India needs to adopt the Malaysian model of democracy.
