Police Martyrs' Memorial Cricket C'ship begins tomorrow | | | early times report JAMMU, Dec 9: To be organised jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua, under Civic Action Programme, the Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club T20 Cricket Championship, shall begin from December 11 at Sports Stadium Kath-ua. This was informed by DIG Farooq Khan, the chairman of the organizing committee while addressing to media persons at Jammu today. "The tournament is being held in remembrance of the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir Police, who have sacrificed their lives while performing duties," said Khan. He further said that 28 teams shall be participating in this mega event, wherein the winner shall receive a cash prize of rupees 1 lac and the runners-up team rupees 51,000, alongwith trophies and mementoes, adding that the man of the tournament will be awarded with a Suzuki Sling Shot Motorcycle. Apart from the teams drawn from different parts of the state, the prominent participating teams include BSNL, PSEB Patiala, Jallandhar, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdas-pur, Delhi, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.
