Governor Lauds creative talent of child artist | | | JAMMU, DECEMBER 10 - N. N. Vohra, Governor, inaugurated a painting exhibition by Miss Agrima Malhotra, a child artist, at Kala Kendra, here today. In all, 40 paintings on varied themes drawn by Miss Agrima Malhota, a 5th class student of the Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu, are on display at the Exhibition which has been organized in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. The Governor went around the Exhibition and evinced keen interest in the paintings. He enquired from Agrima from where she got the ideas behind her various paintings and complimented her for the high quality of her artistic creations. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that in the past two years Agrima had been sending him copies of some of her art creations and he has been encouraging her to do still better. He observed that Agrima has very clear ideas and hoped that she would become a versatile artist in the coming time, as well as an eloquent speaker. He announced an award of Rs. 25,000 to Agrima for her artistic achievements and wished her a bright future ahead. While interacting with M. K. Wadhera, a well known artist, who tutors Agrima in making paintings, the Governor complimented this known artist and suggested to him that instead of choosing complicated subjects this child artist may be encouraged to paint as per her own instincts and ideas. He congratulated Agrima’s parents, her guide, her teachers and her School for their encouragement to this budding artist.
