Sham distributes horti incentive cheques for Rs. 3.60 lakh

AKHNOOR, DECEMBER 10 –Minister for Health, Horticulture &Floriculture, Sham Sharma has reiterated the resolve of Coalition Government to provide better medicare facilities across the State.He said health & education are the core sectors and Government was striving hard to upgrade these facilities, particularly in the rural
and far-flung areas.
Addressing the people after inaugurating one-day free medical camp, organized by the health department at village Neeli Nallah, a remotest
corner of Akhnoor, the Minister said that Government has made best efforts to strengthen the health services in rural and far-flung areas during the past couple of years, with the result the things have improved considerably on ground.
To encourage the doctors and para-medics to serve in rural areas, the Government has recently increased the remuneration upto 20 percent toall those engaged under NRHM and efforts are on to give special allowances to all the doctors serving in the rural areas. He directed the doctors to ensure punctuality in the health centres and maintained that no slackness on their part will be tolerated and they will face severe action for laxity. He also asked the Sarpanchs and Panchs to monitor the functioning of health institutions to improve the work culture.
He also reviewed various on-going development projects in the areas and directed the officers for their early completion. He also directed
for preparing DPRs of new road projects in the uncovered areas of this hilly pocket.
He distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 3.60 lakhs as horticulture incentives amongst the 12 beneficiaries of Neeli Nallah and adjoining areas. Several deputations called on the Minister and apprised him about the problems confronted in their areas. He issued on-the-spot instructions to the officers to address all genuine demands immediately.
The Minister also paid obeisance at the Neeli Nallah Dev Sthan andSthan Baba Mai Mal at village Charayasi and prayed for the peace and
tranquility of the State and its people.MP Madan Lal Sharma and several HoDs also accompanied the Minister.
