Three bovine smugglers arrested, 21 animals rescued | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur Dec 10: Udhampur Police has arrested three bovine smugglers in two separate cases at Udhampur and Chenani, who were smuggling 21 animals to Kashmir valley. Giving details Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur Shakeel Ahmed Beig, said that based on an input, a Police party of Police Station, Udhampur led by Gian Chand Sharma, SHO P/S Udhampur, laid a Naka at National Highway near Jakheni and in the wee hours, the police team intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. 5095/JK02AG, on way to Kashmir valley from Jammu.” “Noticing the surprise Naka party, one of the Bovine Smuggler namely Fareed R/o Jammu fled away from the spot taking advantage of darkness while bovine smuggler (Driver) namely Mohd Sultan S/o Shah Jaman R/o Nai Basti, Nagrota Bye-Pass Jammu was arrested on the spot. During search of the truck, 17 bovine animals were rescued from the possession of this smuggler and the vehicle seized and a case against FIR No. 327/2011 u/s 188/295A/RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur. Yet in another incident a Police party from P/S Chenani led by SHO Niaz-ul-Hassan laid a naka near Basht area of Chenani intercepted two bovine smugglers who were smuggling 04 bovine animals on foot via hilly route of Sudhmahadev through Patnitop to Kashmir valley. Binya S/o Israil and Saif Ali S/o Hussain both residents of Rengi, Chenani were arrested on the spot by the Police Party while four animals were rescued. In this connection, a Case FIR No. 135/2011 under section 188/RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani.
