AJKLTF holds meeting, discusses problems of teachers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 10: To discuss the problems of teachers in particular and employees in general, a meeting of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) was held here today. The meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Bushan S Verma State President and Maheshwar Parsad Sharma Convenor of the federation. The federation felt deep concern over the agreement given to release the arrear of 6th Pay Commission in 5 equal instalments to employees and pensioners, where as the arrear of MLAs and MLCs was given in one go while their medical allowance was also increased from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 leaving the employees on Rs 300 only. Besides, the Federation also discussed various other issues concerning teachers including the transfers in education department, which are presently banned by the Government due to mid academic session. The Federation think and discussed that it is too late to ban the transfers as education in schools has highly disturbed due to mass level transfers of Teachers/ Masters/ Lecturers/ Head Masters/ Principals in the month of October, November and December. The members said that the Zero Kilometre transfers are condemned by the federation. AJKLTF wants a high level inquiry in zero kilometres transfers and amendments in transfers orders in urban areas where as the teachers of Jammu City working in rural area for years long remained untouched in mass level zero kilometre urban transfers. They demanded DA instalment be released in favour of employee due from July 7, 2011.
