Police arrested 3 bovine smugglers in two separate cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 10: Police have arrested three bovine smugglers in two separate cases at Udhampur and Chenani, who were smuggling 21 bovine animals to Kashmir valley. Giving details SSP Udhampur said, based on an input, a Police party of Police Station, Udhampur led by Inspector Gian Chand Sharma, SHO police station, laid a Naka at National Highway near Jakheni in the wee hours of this morning. The naka party intercepted a truck bearing Registration No JK02AG 5095 on way to Kashmir valley from Jammu. On noticing the naka party, one of the bovine smugglers identified as Fareed of Jammu fled away from the spot taking advantage of darkness. However, another bovine smuggler (Driver) identified as Mohammad Sultan of Nai Basti, Nagrota Bye-Pass Jammu was arrested on the spot. During search of the truck, 17 bovine animals were rescued from the possession of the smuggler and the vehicle seized. A case FIR No 327/2011 under section 188/295A/RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur in this connection. In another instance, based on an input, a Police party from Police Station Chenani led by Inspector Niaz-ul-Hassan, SHO Police Station Chenani laid a naka near Basht area of Chenani where the Police intercepted two bovine smugglers who were smuggling 4 bovine animals on foot via hilly route of Sudhmahadev through Patnitop to Kashmir valley. Both the smugglers identified as Binya and Saif Ali, residents of Rengi, Chenani were arrested on the spot. Four animals were rescued from the clutches of these bovine smugglers. In this connection, a case FIR No. 135/2011 under section 188/RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani.
