| JSM criticized Farooq’s statement on LoC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 10: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has strongly criticized the statement of Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah that he made in the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit- 20011 held a few days back in New Delhi.
Dr Abdullah reportedly has called for converting Line of Control (LoC) into permanent border between India and Pakistan and that India should fore go its claim on the illegally occupied part of Jammu and Kashmir.
He told in the summit that “India should accept that it cannot get back Pakistan occupied Kashmir”.
President JSAM Prof Virender Gupta and General Secretary Nathu Ram Gupta said that Farooq’s statement is contrary to the Indian Parliament resolution-1994 and the nation resolve to reoccupy the areas which Pakistan had annexed and illegally occupied in 1947-48.
They said this stand of Farooq Abdullah, as a Union Minister is against all the parliamentary norms and against the unanimous decision of the Parliament. He behaved utterly in irresponsible manner which is not expected from a cabinet minister.
His repeated statements favouring revocation of AFSPA are against the parliamentary norms and against the status and dignity of a cabinet minister. JSM, therefore, keeping in view his uncalled for statements, asks him to voluntarily resign from the Union Cabinet or the Prime Minister should immediately remove him from his cabinet.
